The Remo Silentstroke 15 inch is a drumhead that can be used for your 15-inch tom. If you replace your current drumhead with this Silentstroke, you will notice that it is a lot quieter. This offers interesting possibilities. This makes the Silentstroke ideal for practice sessions. You won't have to make arrangements with your neighbours and housemates about when you can practise. It will produce a nice sound, but this sound will be a lot softer and won't travel through walls. This also makes it well suited for beginners, that don't yet have the technique to play softly.

Als je in stilte wil drummen is dit een goede oplossing voor de trommels. Werkelijk bijna geen geluid! Wat mij betreft zelfs iets teveel demping. De rebound is iets sterker dan gewone vellen. Ideaal voor rudiments in stilte oefenen. Voor het oefenen op je gehele drumset is het niet ideaal, want bekkens dempen blijft natuurlijk een lastig verhaal. Daar heb ik nog nooit een realistische oplossing voor gevonden. Je krijgt op een bekken ofwel een plok-plok geluid met een dempmat, of het is ongedempt en krankzinnig hard t.o.v. de toms. Brushes blijven makkelijk hangen in de gaasvellen. Dus de overgebleven oplossingen zijn Whisperrods van Qsticks of elektrische bekkens.

Bestonden dit soort vellen maar 20 jaar eerder! Had me heel wat gedoe met de buren gescheeld...Deze vellen klinken heel zacht en je kunt zo zonder problemen tot diep in de nacht doorspelen! Ik gebruik ze i.c.m. de low volume bekkens van Zildjian. Ze 'stuiteren' wel behoorlijk maar n.v.v.t. neemt dat wel wat af. Een betere oplossing voor stil oefenen is er wat mij betreft niet. Geen enkel alternatief speelt zo goed en klinkt ook nog eens heel behoorlijk. En voor de prijs hoef je het niet te laten! Aanrader!
