De hi-hat produceert een piepende toon die bij mij pijn aan de oren deed. Ook viel het mij erg tegen hoeveel stiller de cymbals zijn t.o.v. normale cymbals. Het schelle geluid hielp ook niet mee.
Dit is écht een voorbeeld van goedkoop = slecht koop.
Uiteindelijk heb ik Zildjan L80 cymbals gekocht. €100,- duurder maar qua geluid vele malen beter!

Deze set zit mooi in een stevige doos verpakt. Elke cymbaal zit appart nog eens in een plastieken zakje. Dus een goeie eerste indruk bij het uitpakken.
De cymbalen zijn zoals op de foto's mooi om te aanschouwen. Mijn eerste gedacht was letterlijk 'nice!!'
Hou er wel rekening mee dat de 'rainbow' een niet ingebakken verf/lak laagje is. Dus door gebruik ziet die wel af.
Zeker bij het opbergen krassen de cymbalen elkaar, dus indien ze veel getransporteerd zullen worden -> 'handle with care'.
Maar in deze prijsklasse kan dit niet aanzien worden als een minpunt.
Voor de klank had ik 2 sets besteld met als doel de best klinkende te houden als akoestische oefenset, en de overige om te bouwen met triggers voor live-gebruik (daarvoor worden de cymbalen gedempt en verdwijnt dan toch de galm).
Alle drummers weten dat elke cymbaal uniek is, en dus ook van toon kan verschillen.
Dat is dus ook zo voor deze set.
Al bij al ben ik heel tevreden over de klank van deze cymbalen. De ride was bij de ene set scheller op de 'bell' maar de 'swells' op de ride gingen ver boven mijn verwachtingen. De crash was ok, en heeft een korte sustain. Voor de Hihat had ik 1 cymbaal in de 2 sets die tegenviel van klank. Te schel en dus niet aangenaam voor de oren, maar door deze onderaan te plaatsen was dit snel opgelost.
De Hihat maakt een lekker 'tsjikkk' geluid bij pedaalgebruik wat een glimlacht opleverde bij het testen.
De 'low noise' is inderdaad door de vele gaatjes >50% stiller dan mijn normale bekkens.
De bekkens zijn wel redelijk dun, waardoor je ze ziet doorbuigen bij hardere slagen.
Door de geringe dikte zie je ook bij de Hihat dat de bekkens niet mooi recht op elkaar komen. Met het pedaal duw je die dan moeiteloos tegen elkaar dicht.
Daardoor moet men dus rekening houden dat de levensduur ook niet gelijk zal zijn aan volle cymbalen. Maar als ik de vele kortingsacties van het huismerk zie, dan lijkt dit voor mij nog altijd een goeie koop.

Al bij al zo tevreden dat ik een 3de set overweeg te kopen. Aangezien de ride een fantastiche crash maakt, en omdat 2 16" crashes als hihat ook een heel leuk resultaat gaf bij het testen. En voor deze prijs het zeker waard.
