Outdoors, there is always that damned wind, even if it's just a breeze. For a recording, this is destructive, and then it really doesn't matter whether it's an expensive or inexpensive microphone. For the Instamic specifically, a furry/fluffy windshield is available: the Instamic Windshield. This keeps the most important gusts of wind out of the recording, and in that conext is actually indispensable for serious recording with the Instamic.
