The Novation Launchpad MK2 offers the same functionality as the original, but features an improved design with RGB backlit pads. This highly practical MIDI studio controller works perfectly with Ableton Live and can easily control all of the popular DAW's clips using 64 multi-coloured pads. You can also use the Launchpad MK2 for various other purposes, such as playing virtual drums, setting up volume levels, starting loops and controlling Max for Live, for instance. It's a must-have for live producers and can even be used with FL Studio's Performance Mode.

Launchpad MK2: the grid

The Launchpad's grid is always clear to read, as each of its 64 buttons can change colour (which looks particularly spectacular in dimly lit or dark environments). This allows you to see which clip is playing or where particular drum sounds are assigned at a glance! Above and beside the grid, you'll find various other buttons, which are freely assignable to various functions in Ableton Live, making it even more user-friendly than it already was - putting your tracks together is a breeze! What's more, thanks to its compact size and USB power cable (no separate power supply needed), the Launchpad is very easy to take along with you.

Great for beginners

Are you just getting started producing your own music but do you have no clue which samples and software you need? Not to worry! Novation included an excellent beginner pack with this product. It includes the Lite version of Ableton Live, 4 GB of Loopmaster samples, and the Bass Station and V Station plugins. iPad users can get started with the Launchpad app. Furthermore, you're not just limited to a single Novation product, as you can combine this controller with more Launchpads and other Launch products (such as the Launch Control and the Launchkey MIDI keyboard) to your heart's content! It comes with a striking orange USB cable.
