The makers of the ingenious Seaboard keyboard Roli are back with the Lightpad Block controller! This device is compatible with the NOISE app and shows how producers are sure to be working in the near future. Linking multiple Lightpads, and other Block modules, is easy with the integrated magnetic strips. Then, all you need is a Bluetooth connection, and you can build your very own custom controller! With the app NOISE on your iPad or iPhone, you've essentially got the key to a comprehensive, modular music station at you fingertips!
Features of the Roli Lightpad Block
Basically, this controller is a sort of touch pad on which you play a virtual grid. It can be a grid of drum sounds, or keyboards; essentially it offers the same options as an Ableton controller for instance. However, the Lightpad Block has multi-coloured LED velocity-sensitive silicone buttons that give this controller a striking appearance, and make operating the controller easy and intuitive too.

NEE!
De Roli Blocks is een echte instrument die niet onderschat moet worden. De gemiddeld DJ kan beter zijn geld aan iets anders besteden. De software is erg nieuw en heeft duidelijk nog last van bugs.
Maar.. in de handen van een echte muzikant is dit, in mijn optiek, de belangrijkste uitvinding sinds de eerste synthetiser.
De sounds zijn ongelooflijk, smaakvol, prachtig.
Wel vragen de Blocks veel oefentijd! Elke sound reageert anders. Dit is net zo complex en lastig als leren gitaar of piano spelen.
Mensen die "knopjes drukken" verwarren met musiceren: niet doen! Kan je veel beter minder geld uitgeven en gaan voor iets anders.
Muzikanten, mensen die jaren hebben gespendeerd om klanken uit een instrument te halen: gewoon proberen! Very gratifying.
