Sometimes you feel the need for just a bit more encoders to control your software with. There are plenty of MIDI controllers out there, but they can include things you don't actually need - but which you pay for. It would be nice if you could put together your own unique controller. And you can, with the intech Studio Grid Series 2! Several modules are available in this series that you can magnetically click together - up to eight on one USB-C cable. So your own Frankenstein MIDI controller doesn't even have to be traditionally rectangular, the whole thing can also be built 'around a corner' around your mouse. Specifically this product is the EN16, a module with sixteen encoders and a good candidate to become the most popular module in the series.

Features of the Intech Studio Grid

You can use free software to link your encoders to functions, and they don't even have to be purely music functions. There are graphic designers and video editors who also use these modules with their software. Colour balance for instance, of course you can do that with your mouse, but with encoders it just feels a lot nicer. And if you are capable of LUA scripting, you can add extra options yourself. And if not: there are plenty of scripts available in that software environment. In short, a customised MIDI controller, and expandable with additional modules. You might want to have eight of these EN16 modules - that's 128 encoders!
