MXR MRT01 Mr. Talkbox Signature Talk Box modulation effects pedal

General

The MXR MRT01 Mr. Talkbox Signature Talk Box is a professional pedal-style talkbox, developed in collaboration with Byron “Mr. Talkbox” Chambers. Ideal for guitarists and keyboard players who want to literally “speak” through their instrument, with a rich low end and clear articulation of vowels and consonants. Just like the well-known MXR Talk Box, this system features its own built-in amplifier and speaker driver, so you don’t have to fiddle about with a separate amp or connect it to your amplifier’s speaker output.

More power, more control

MXR has gone one step further with an upgrade to 25 watts for extra headroom and better dynamic response. As a result, the talkbox continues to sound thick and full, even when you play loudly or use a lot of bass. With the Volume, Tone and Gain controls, you can tailor the effect to your voice and playing style: from subtle and smooth to more aggressive and nicely prominent. The Tone control retains the musical ‘tilt EQ’ approach, whilst Gain and Tone together can add plenty of character when you turn them up.

Flexibility in your setup

The Mute toggle lets you choose whether your guitar or keyboard signal runs through the tube alone or is also sent to your amp output at the same time. Handy for those who want a thicker blend or need to switch quickly between talkbox passages and normal playing. For keyboardists with a higher output, there’s a Gain Bypass switch that routes your signal past the preamp and clipping diodes, ensuring everything remains tight and controlled. Supplied complete with an 18V adaptor, an 8’ tube and a microphone stand clip.
