General
The MF-102 ring modulator can be traced back directly to the original Moog modular synthesizers. This Moogerfooger offers three modular functions: a ring modulator, a VC carrier oscillator and a voltage-controlled dual waveform.
A ring modulator produces sum and difference frequencies between an input signal and a carrier oscillator, and as such it is able to create subtle tremolo effects, as well as rich, harmonic distortion.
The MF-102 offers you a choice of various parameters, including signal mix, carrier frequency, LFO rate and LFO amount, all of which can be adjusted by means of large, rugged knobs. The ring modulator can be controlled using an expression pedal, or the VC of your synthesizer. The effect pedal has a rugged metal construction with stylish wooden side panels, making it ideal for use on stage as well as in the studio.
