Steinberg Dorico has been one of the strongest notation software packs around for years. The undisputed strong point here is the visual quality of the parts, which not only look highly professional but reconfirm Dorico 4 is the new ruler. Based on advanced engraving technology, Dorico Pro 4 plants itself firmly among other elite software packs.
What's New in Dorico Pro 4?
A quick glance at some of the new options reveals a freshly added key editor (as seen in DAWs), which can be used to create a MIDI representation of your notes, including controller data. Anyone working with a DAW will also be pleased to hear that Dorico is now able to read and decode larger files, potentially saving you lots of time. In addition, Steinberg have added a feature that splits MIDI keyboard triggers into separate lines, so essentially multiple voices on a single bar; a pop-up menu where notes and rhythms can be transformed; a tiny keyboard for entering notes (compatible with touch-displays); special instrument harmonising filters (to match, say, a piccolo and a cello); and various other new options, functions and unique features.
