Bjooks Synth Gems 1 Book

Bjooks recently released some books, some of which were about synthesisers. That was pretty technical stuff, about patching and modular systems. Most will be mostly familiar with keyboard models, and that's what their latest book is about: Bjooks Synth Gems 1. This book is another gem, really a great book to give as a gift to a synth-geek. It contains a huge amount of information and beautiful colour photos of famous synthesisers.

Just a few synthesisers covered: the Yamaha DX1 (a dual DX7 in a huge housing, rare), the Minimoog (familiar to you all), the Jupiter-8 (a foundation of the 80s), the Fairlight CMI (let's not buy a new car, and not go on holiday, and not a new TV), the CS-80 (as good as it is heavy), and many many many others. The foreword is by Vince Clarke, another icon in synthesiser history. You get 320 fine pages of reading material on more than 60 synths, so you can have a good time with that. The best thing about it all is the '1' in the title, because it suggests that there will also be a second part. And that's just as well, history has seen many more relevant synths that deserve a place in such a beautiful book!
