Bjooks Beat Gems book

We’re already familiar with Bjooks’ various books on synths. But there’s another product group that also fits within the Bjooks range, and is likely to appeal to exactly the same target audience: drum machines. And that is precisely the theme of Bjooks Beat Gems. Author Oli Freke describes more than a hundred drum machines. Of course, the well-known models are included – we could all name them: the Roland TR series, the Linndrum, the Akai MPC. But it also covers obscure drum machines where the chances are… how shall we put it… 99.99% that you’ve never heard of them. And that’s naturally a great read for fans of vintage synths, because all those drum machines are, in one way or another, a fundamental part of the synth bubble we live in. A lovely, hefty book with over 300 pages, loads of information and plenty of colour. Long story short: simply a really great book!
