General

It's been a few years since Devine treated the world to the beginner-friendly MR-5A monitor, and now, taking things a giant step up, they drop the RX Series studio monitors, including the RX-5. Available as single units, these monitors can be used to set up a 5.1 or even 7.1 system and each comes supported by magnetic shielding as well as signal overload protection and provides the ultimate flexibility of TS/TRS jack, RCA, and XLR ports so they can be directly connected up to a good audio interface.

The Devine RX-5A

The Devine RX-5A has a 55Hz to 20kHz frequency response which, for a monitor loaded with a 5.5-inch woofer and 1-inch tweeter, is pretty comprehensive. Of course, if your studio space demands a little more depth, then the RX Series includes monitors with a 6 or 8-inch woofer, or you could couple the RX-5A up with the matching RX-10SA subwoofer to add the necessary meat. But, if your production work is focussed on popular music and your studio space is relatively small, then the range offered by this monitor is perfect, and will simply set you up with the neutral and honest audio imaging that's essential for making accurate mixes and lush productions.

In verhouding van kwaliteit zijn het erg mooie compacte studio monitoren! Dit zijn de ideale monitoren voor voor wie wil beginnen en meteen wel met het echte werk aan de gang wil. Ze geven een helder ruim algemeen beeld en hebben daarin het volume voor vrijwel elke situatie.

Vergeleken met andere merken, zie je dat deze monitoren in frequentie net wat meer geven door hun lage 55 Hz. Het model is klein en strak en nog geeft het control-mogelijkheden mee aan de achterkant van de monitor. Het is de ‘total package’ voor een serieuze beginner. Uiteraard, als je de ruimte en geld hebt raad ik een groter maatje aan maar voor de studio liefhebber die minder geld wil kwijt zijn, maar voor wel kwaliteit, raad ik deze set zeker aan!

Een dag in huis, de bouwkwaliteit is echt geweldig . Weegt behoorlijk wat, achterkant van metaal, de potmeters voelen solide. De 5.5 inch woofer produceert een mooi diep laag en kan makkelijk meerdere lagen lage frequenties tegelijk aan. Tweeter klinkt helder en is regelbaar op de achterkant. BAX zet hiermee echt een top huismerk neer!
