Setting yourself up with good quality studio monitors can be a pricey business and the job of sorting the excellent from the mediocre can be a nightmare. What Kali Audio managed to prove with the first-gen LP Series is that you can get high-performance monitors at a price you would just never expect, making them the masters of the budget-range studio monitor game. But that was the first LP Series, and here, we're treated to the Second Wave - the next-generation LP (or Lone Pine) Series: fully upgraded, and even better ever.
The Kali Audio LP-6 V2
A 6.5 inch woofer has been teamed up with a 1 inch tweeter for a total frequency response of 47Hz to 21kHz (+/- 3dB) - a hefty range that effortlessly covers most popular genres. The rear control panel has been fitted with a small army of switches so that the output can be accurately calibrated to match with the studio space and positioning, and since this is the Second Wave, it boasts the same level of on-board tech as the IN Series. So, you're getting 3dBs of extra output and a 12dB noise reduction - an immense levelling up in terms of the overall performance. The build quality has also been raised to match, completing a comprehensive production and mixing partner.

Ik was toe aan een upgrade van mijn Presonus Eris E5 monitor speakers, waar ik overigens op grond van de prijs/prestatie verhouding wel zeer tevreden over was. Maar goed, het kan altijd beter en de investering in deze Kali's was het waard: het leverde zeker de geluidsverbetering op waarop ik hoopte. Kortom wederom een goede prijs/prestatie verhouding bij deze erg goede speaker...echt een aanrader

Bien niveau son, malgré la V2 toujours un bruit de fond ,pour le boitier la finition et qualité et bien moindre, plus tot bas de gamme.

Ik heb deze speakers op aanraden van een speaker expert gekocht toen ik hem vroeg welke gunstig geprijsde speakers ik moest aanschaffen voor het beluisteren van eigen muziekproducties. Hij kwam met deze op de proppen en ik ben blij dat hij deze heeft aangeraden. De speakers zien er niet alleen mooi strak uit, maar geven een heerlijk zoals ik het noem 'rustig en stabiel' geluid. Ondanks de drukke muziek die ik samen met onze band maak via Cubase komen alle instrumenten goed naar voren en het afluisteren is echt aangenaam. En dan ben ik nog niet eens aan de fijn afstelling toegekomen. Echt een hele fijne prijs/kwaliteitverhouding!

Fantastisch geluid voor deze prijs. Ik heb lang getwijfeld over een set kali lp6 v2 of een set adam t7v. Héél lang in de winkel geluisterd en vergeleken en ondanks dat de frequency response van de adam's lager zou zijn miste ik daar toch bepaalde lage tonen die ik bij de kali's wel hoorde. Daarnaast hebben de kali's een front bass port wat beter is voor mijn situatie (de monitoren staan dichtbij een muur). Daarom uiteindelijk toch voor de kali's gegaan en ik ben nu na een week zeer tevreden met het geluid. Als ik met m'n neutrale headset vergelijk komt het geluid erg overeen met elkaar. En, zoals ik al noemde, er zit een heerlijk laag geluid in die ik met andere monitoren rond deze prijs niet hoor. Verder: geen sis-geluid, makkelijke eq aanpassingen met hulp van de pictogrammen op de achterkant en een oké design. Eén klein puntje van aandacht: ergens in de hoge middentonen kan het heel af en toe (met bepaalde hi-hats) wat slordig klinken, nét wat minder scherp dan dat ik ze met de headset hoor.
