Breaking News: Compatibility Issues with OS X 10.11 El Capitan and Native Instruments
Important news for people who use the Apple OS X operating system: Native Instruments is currently warning users against upgrading to OS X 10.11, also known as El Capitan, as some major compatibility issues have been identified concerning their products. If you work with Native Instruments Komplete, Traktor and/or Maschine products, take note!
The following issues have been identified for El Capitan
1. NI plugins do not pass audio validation, and are therefore not available in Logic Pro under OS X 10.11. At this moment, the cause hasn't been identified yet, but Native Instruments knows about the problem, and is currently working with Apple to come up with a solution.
2. Incompatibility with older NI hardware.
Some of Native Instruments' older devices aren't compatible with Apple's new operating system. Kernel panics are triggered, which cause the system to crash instantly. This might result in lost data and serious disruptions of the work process.
