Fazley Banjos & Banjoleles: Friendly Sound for a Friendly Price

Monday 1 March 2021 by Kim | Bax Music

Built to turn frowns upside-down, the humble banjo helped define bluegrass, trad-jazz and old-time blues, and here, Fazley pay homage to its colourful history by offering up a 5-string and 6-string banjo, alongside a hybrid banjolele - ideal for any ukulele players that want that sweet banjo twang. Scroll down to see to the full line-up!

The Fazley BN-30 and BN-50 Banjos

Forming the foundation of the line-up, the Fazley BN-30 is a more classic 5-string model, while the BN-50 offers guitarists a one-of-a-kind instrument with the familiar feel of a 6-stringed guitar.

The traditional build of the BN-30 has a shorter fifth string with a tuner fitted further up the fretboard for higher-pitched fifth-string tuning, supporting classic banjo open tunings. Since the fifth string effectively starts at the fifth fret, this model might take a little getting used to for guitarists and ukulele players.

The Banjolele

Bearing a banjo-style body and fitted with the neck of a ukulele and just four strings, the Fazley banjolele is a happy hybrid that offers ukulele players the ideal crossover instrument. The banjolele can be tuned and played in exactly the same way as a concert ukulele but delivers that distinctive, banjo-style feel alongside that warm and sparkling uke-style sound.

Features of the Fazley Banjos

Each of these three models comes finished with a high-grade Remo resonance head mounted on a sapele body, resulting in a warm tone that's packed with clarity. These versatile instruments each come at a budget-friendly price, putting solid banjo sound in the hands of any complete beginner or experienced musician that just wants to try something different.
