General

The Tri-Center by Evans (set of 2) is a solid bongovel that produces a bright and clear sound where especially the low tones sound full and round. The Tri-Center dot increases the stability of the sound. This skin is very durable and in terms of structure and feel, this bongovel is reminiscent of natural skins. The bongovel is easy to tune and its responsive attack allows you to add a lot of dynamics to your playing.

Wrote the following about Evans EB0709 Tri-Center 7 1/4 & 9 5/8-inch Bongo Heads (Set of 2)

De vorige set Evans EB0709 Tri-Center 7 1/4 & 8 5/8 inch bongovellen is na 9 jaar intensief gebruik nog steeds geschikt als reserve.
De klank van de Evans EB0709 is prima in alle situaties waar je ze met de hand bespeeld.
Alle technieken en klanken zijn met weinig energie prima te bereiken met deze vellen. Ze spelen heel licht.
Je kunt de vellen met stokken bespelen en ze geven dan ruim voldoende tot te veel volume.
Op mijn Meinl Professional bongo's Meinl FWB400GAB zijn deze vellen in mijn genres en bezettingen te luid voor het bespelen met stokken of mallets. Dan wellicht dikkere vellen of andere bongo gebruiken.
Heb de vellen gebruikt in big band, percussiegroep, popkoor, acoustisch trio, combo van een kerkkoor, jazz jam sessie, pop/rock jam sessies, zowel binnen als buiten bij allerlei temperaturen en luchtvochtigheden. .Ze blijven prima op stemming en kunnen de gebruikelijke hoge stemming van een bongo goed aan. Fijne klank.
Uiterst makkelijk in dagelijks gebruik.
De nieuwe natuurvellen van de bongo waren na 3 maand gescheurd door na transport van de koude auto naar de warme oefenruimte te gaan in de winter.
