Shape big sound on the cheap with the Mooer Pure Octave. Accurate yet affordable, this polyphonic pitch-shifting stompbox offers up various octave modes so you can literally kick your sound up or down a notch or two.

The Mooer Pure Octave: Distortion-Free Sound

The three top knobs set the balance between the dry signal and the low and high octave parameters, where the Dry refers to the original octave, Sub dials in the low, and Upper determines the high. The large mode selector pot toggles through eleven different settings which can be fine-tuned as needed using the aforementioned pots, resulting in crystal-clear, distortion-free sound no matter what.

Wrote the following about Mooer Pure Octave Pitch Shift Pedal

Ik ben een éénmansband.
Met mijn gitaar produceer ik electrisch-, acoustisch- (dankzij pïezo-element) en basgeluid.
Dat laatste dankzij een EHX Micro POG.

Ik had de Pure Octave als alternatief voor de POG getest.
Gezien het kleine formaat was het idee om zo boardruimte te besparen.
Voor mijn toepassing moet ik een strak basgeluid kunnen produceren.
Opstelling: Gitaar -> Compressor -> POG -> EQ -> Mixer/versterking

Met de POG krijg ik een diepe en strakke bastoon.
Met de Pure Octave krijg ik een of ander rommelig flabbergeluid.

Met of zonder randapparatuur, het resultaat blijft hetzelfde.
Hij lijkt de toon niet zuiver te kunnen pakken, alsof hij moduleert. Daarnaast krijg je ook nog te maken met een slapback effect, omdat er vertraging tussen het originele en getransponeerde signaal zit.
Bij het 2 octaaf diepe signaal is dit extra erg.
Hij heeft last van de dynamiek, vandaar de compressor.
Het haalt allemaal niks uit. Zelfs voor de lage prijs was hij voor mij onbruikbaar. Jammer.

Ik kan me wel voorstellen dat de hoge octaven bruikbaar zijn voor het produceren van een spacy orgelgeluid, in combinatie met chorus en delay.

Maar daar wilde ik hem dus niet voor gebruiken.
Dan blijf ik maar bij de POG.

Uitstekend apparaatje, doet niet onder voor die van Boss.
Beide wel vooral voor gitaar, andere instrumenten pakken ze toch wat minder goed op.
