General
The MPD26 is a MIDI-via-USB pad controller with real MPC pads - ideal for producers, musicians and DJs. The main attraction of the MPD26 is its collection of velocity and pressure-sensitive MPC pads. Each pad is capable of controlling four sounds, amounting to a total of 64. The MPD 26 also features a number of assignable Q-Link controllers, including six faders and six 360-degree knobs, which enable you to control nearly any parameter in your software. Additional transport buttons allow for the control of most DAW software.
The MPD26 is more than just a controller, as it is equipped with internal technology from the MPC series. Activate the Note Repeat function, and it automatically plays a rhythm pattern, such as 16th notes on a hi-hat, increasing the accuracy and speed of entry. The MPC Swing functionality, on the other hand, provides perfectly aligned sequences with a more human-feeling timing. The degree and timing of swing can be precisely specified. The Akai MPD26 also features Full Level and 16-Level on its pads.
The MPD26 transmits MIDI data by means of a plug-and-play USB interface, which means the controller is compatible with both Mac and PC without installing any drivers. The USB connection also provides the controller with the power it requires. The presence of a traditional DIN MIDI input and output enables you to use the MPD-26 to control synths and sound modules. The Akai drum pad controller is supplied with a version of Ableton Live Lite and with Editor Librarian software, so you can get started right away.

+ fijne pads
+ fijne faders
+ MIDI in/uit , dus niet alleen usb (heel irritant tegenwoordig)
+ werkt ook met adapter op netstroom
+ Min/max settings voor de faders, draaiknoppen
+ fijne interface
+ boel user presets
- Geen banks op het apparaat voor de faders en draaiknoppen
- Geen CC voor de pads, alleen note number en program change
- tempo alleen in te stellen door te "tappen" en volgens mij geen exacte indicatie van het tempo

Alle knoppen zijn prima toe te wijzen in de de software die ik gebruik. De Pads zijn erg prettig en zijn gevoelig genoeg op een realistisch drum patroon neert te zetten met volume verschil. Ook Voor mensen die met samples werken is dit apparaat een goede toevoeging.
Zelf Heb ik nog genoeg opties te ontdekken aan dit apparaat, maar ik vind de prijs/kwaliteit verhouding top! Een must have voor elke thuis studio voor verschillende muziek genres !

Eigenlijk doet de naam drumpad dit apparaat geen recht. Het is een MIDI device. Sluit het aan op je computer (MIDI over usb) en je hebt alle instrumenten die je maar wilt tot je beschikking via de bijgeleverde software: synths, sound modules, samplers, sequencers, drum machines, en zo voort.
DE MPD26 is voor de DJ en muzikant een zeer betaalbare MIDI controller van superieure kwaliteit. Muziek maken met de MPD26 is fun. Een aanrader!
