Denon DJ is mostly known for its DJ gear, but the manufacturer also offers a number of speakers. Take this Axis 12, for instance, an active speaker with a 12-inch woofer and a 1.75-inch driver, mounted in a coaxial setup that makes phase issues a thing of the past, as all sound will reach your ears at the same time. As a result, the Axis 12's output sounds exceptionally pure, and you can position the speaker both horizontally and vertically. A coaxial setup also allows for a more compact speaker cabinet - for the Axis 12, Denon were able to downsize by 30%. That means the speaker's considerably lighter of weight, making it ideal for quick jobs!

The Axis 12 offers an impressive amount of power - no less than 2,000 watts is pumped into the speakers, courtesy of a powerful class-D amplifier. This type of amp keeps the overall weight of the speaker down, but delivers a top-class performance nonetheless. The resulting sound is definitely something to brag about: tight, punchy bass tones and clear, pleasant trebles.
DSP
These days, most modern active speakers are equipped with DSP - Digital Signal Processing. The Axis 12 is no exception, and its DSP protects both the speaker and the amplifier. Loud peaks are automatically limited, so your speaker won't get damaged by overly loud signals. A 5-band equalizer, meanwhile, allows you to adjust the sound of the speaker to your own personal preferences.
