Fat '50s
The sound of this American Standard Strat is marvellously fat and vintage thanks to its three Custom Shop Fat '50s single coil pickups that produce a higher output than classic alnico 5 single coils, with slightly more bass and a milder mid range. The reverse-wound middle pickup makes that this guitar is hum free in the pickup switch's mid positions. The result is a guitar that sounds amazing and that combines the classic single-coil sparkle with extra bass and more power.
Modern modifications
Several components of this guitar underwent modern modifications. Modern features include the 22 medium jumbo frets, the two-way truss rod and the comfortable 9.5-inch neck. The vintage-style tremolo bridge has also been dramatically improved with a two-point mounting for better tuning and renewed friction-free bridge saddles and a solid steel tremolo block for more tone and sustain. All of its features combined make the American Standard Stratocaster the ultimate Strat for many.
