General
The M-Audio M-Track Quad is a sizeable interface, but as such, offers more than enough options to record several analogue tracks simultaneously. It is equipped with four input channels, which allow for low-latency direct monitoring via a freely adjustable headphone output selector. It is also possible to create a mix of input signals and USB playback.
Inputs and outputs of the M-Audio M-Track Quad
The M-Audio M-Track Quad is quite large, but has a well-organised layout. The connectors on the left side of the interface do not get in the way of the knobs and switches in the middle. Each input is fitted with a combined XLR/jack connector, while each signal has an adjustable gain and is switchable between an instrument and line/microphone signal. Phantom power of +48 volts is selectable per two channels. The M-Track Quad offers plenty of output options, including an elaborate headphone output. It is possible to make a monitor mix of real-time inputs and USB playback, and both the volume and the input source are adjustable. The interface offers four outputs, two of which feature volume controls, while the other two have a fixed volume.
Additional signals of the M-Track Quad
In addition to the separate inputs and outputs, the Quad features MIDI IN and OUT, located at the rear. Each input signal has a optional insert, which enables you to use external peripherals, and the M-Audio M-Track Quad is also equipped with a three-port USB hub - ideal for small MIDI controller and USB lights. The included Pro Tools Express and Air Ignite software allow you to get down to business straight away.

Wrote the following about M-Audio M-Track Quad USB audio interface
Hij is een beetje groot , maar dat oogt juist wel aantrekkelijk en robuust . Het materiaal is stevig en mooi afgewerkt . De knopjes voelen super goed aan en zitten niet zo krap op elkaar . Ik heb lekker de ruimte voor mijn vingers zeg maar . Met vier ingangen heb ik er voorlopig meer dan genoeg ( gitaar/basgitaar/microfoon zijn alle drie standaard ingeplugd ) en vooral de ingebouwde USB Hub is erg handig . Hierdoor kan ik al mijn randapparatuur ( o.a. midi keyboard controller , externe harde schijf ) aansluiten op de interface en hoef ik alleen maar 1 USB kabeltje van mijn interface naar mijn computer aan te sluiten . Dat zorgt wel voor wat rust en gemak op de studiotafel . Verder doet deze interface exact wat het beloofd . Analoge signalen worden prima geconverteerd om in mijn DAW bewerkt te kunnen worden . Tot nu toe ook nul problemen qua latency , wat erg fijn is natuurlijk ! Ik gebruik Ableton Live Suit 9 als mijn DAW , maar bij deze interface krijg je dus ook Pro Tools en Air Ignite software . Prima deal voor deze prijs !
Tot nu toe alleen nog maar duimpjes omhoog dus !
Ik loop wel echter tegen een probleempje aan dat ik nog niet heb kunnen verhelpen . Uiteraard moest ik een driver installeren in mijn laptop om met deze interface aan de slag te kunnen . Zo gezegd zo gedaan . Alles werkt prima . Maar elke keer dat ik mijn laptop ontkoppel na een studio sessie en weer aansluit voor een volgende studiosessie , moet ik steeds opnieuw weer de driver installeren . . . Heb nog niet kunnen ontdekken hoe ik de driver permanent kan installeren of hoe ik dit probleem kan verhelpen . Best irritant om steeds die driver te moeten installeren en mijn laptop te moeten herstarten voordat ik aan de slag kan in mijn home studio . . . =(
Als iemand tips heeft zijn ze welkom ! ( heb ook al dit probleemstuk omschreven en de vraag gesteld op de M-Audio forum , maar nog geen respons )

Heb de interface nu gebruikt om een volledig nummer mee op te nemen (drums, bass, gitaar en zang).
Alles klinkt heel erg goed. De interface ziet er ook heel mooi uit en alle knopjes voelen zeer goed aan.
De interface past in mijn tas en is dus makkelijk mee te nemen.
Ook de USB-hub is heel handig.
En door de service van Bax-shop ben ik zeer tevreden
