The M3-6 is the 6-inch model from M-Audio's M3 monitor series. This chic-looking three-way active monitor is equipped with an impressive 160-watt amplifier, which provides the 6-inch woofer and the 5-inch mid-frequency driver (both made of Kevlar) with 110 and 30 watts respectively, while the 1-inch silk-dome tweeter is driven by 20 watts. Thanks to this tri-amping technology, each component is able to function efficiently, providing custom amplification that results in a transparent, dynamic overall sound. The cabinet of the M3-6 is of a functional beauty - the wood veneer front baffle not only looks great, but improves the solidity and tone dispersion of the monitor as well. The other sides of the speaker cabinet have a laminated vinyl finish.

M-Audio M3-6: coaxial drivers, equalizer and filter

A simple look at the M-Audio M3-6 tells you all you need to know: the mid-frequency driver and the silk-dome tweeter of the monitor are coaxial drivers. As such, they produce a solid audio projection without causing the same listener fatigue as some other monitors. The M3-6 is equipped with the necessary connectors and controls, including balanced XLR and jack connectors and unbalanced RCA connectors. A three-band equalizer allows you to adjust the audio image, aided by a switchable low-cut filter and an EQ bypass.
