Pioneer DDJ SB-S: a remarkable silver-coloured device
This excellent DJ controller is not just suited for beginners, but great for advanced DJs too. Its volume fader can be connected to a high-pass filter, which makes mixing two tracks exceedingly simple, as you now have one hand free to operate a fader or one of the sample pads. Each of the DDJ SB-S's channels is equipped with eight rubber pads that can be used to trigger samples or hotcues. Two jog wheels allow for scratching, but also enable you to quickly scroll through a track.
A clear overview
The included Serato DJ Intro software is the driving force behind this DJ controller. Effects, hot cues and samples can all effortlessly be controlled, and it is also possible to add your own music to Serato. All of the DDJ SB-S's controls correspond with specific functions in the software, enabling you to keep a clear overview, and each channel features its own volume control and three-band tone control, combined a high/low pass filter and a shared effects section. Naturally, the DDJ SB-S is equipped with a sound card, which can be connected to your monitors via a stereo RCA output. Headphone outputs and a microphone input can be found on the side panel of the DJ controller.
