The Yamaha Live Custom Set 2 Shell Set (Amber Shadow Sunburst) consists of a 22 x 14-inch bass drum, a 10 and a 12-inch tom and a 16-inch floor tom. This set comes from the Live Custom series, which is the introductory model for the famous Oak Custom drum sets. As always, Yamaha conducted research and consulted with drummers, dealers and consumers to find out what people wanted, and the new Yamaha Live Custom is the result. This drum set also just happened to be the first thing to leave the new high-tech Yamaha factory, making the entire experience shiny and new.

Applications

It shouldn't come as a surprise that the Live Custom was specially developed for live applications. Regardless how many decibels come out of the guitarist's stacks, you will have the power to match it with this set. The reason is simple: 100% oak shells. Oak wood is known not only for being incredibly strong, but also for having a solid sound with great low frequencies and good tonal clarity, and you'll find that these drums more than showcase those characteristics.

Appearance

Yamaha is a detail-oriented manufacturer, and that's easy to see when you notice elements such as the snare drum, which is equipped with a new strainer, and the floor tom feet that are equipped with an extra sturdy vertical clamp. The bass drum hooks have also been made smaller and lighter to optimise the sound. Of course Yamaha knows that looks matter too, and you don't have to worry about that with these striking shells, finished with an attractive Amber Shadow Sunburst finish and furnished with black nickel-plated hardware. If what you see is what you get, then you know you're getting a beautiful set with a sound to match!
