General
Reverb pedals can produce gigantic sound but are rarely are a match for the software reverb available on your computer. The American-made Strymon blueSky Reverberator is equipped with a monstrously powerful SHARC-DSP (24 bit/96 kHz), which it uses every last bit of processing power to create plate, spring or room delays with enormous decay times and - very importantly - this blue stombox has an adjustable pre-delay.
The Base of the BlueSky
Select plate or spring or the modern room reverb, that exactly calculates the reverberation you would get in a real room. After that, you can set the reverb time with the decay and use the pre-delay pot to determine the time between the dry sound and the start of the reverb. The mix knob adjusts the balance between the effect and the (always analogue!) dry signal. The Low and High Damp let you set the level of low and high tones for the effect signal.
Three Modes, More Effects
Whether you're a guitarist, bass player, play another instrument altogether, or if you're the sound technician, the Strymon blueSky should keep you entertained for quite some time. The above settings alone allow for a veritable arsenal of sounds, from short and subtle to luscious and grand. However, the number of options is tripled with the Mode selector, so you can create chorus-like effects in Mod mode, or sparkling extra octaves in Shimmer mode!
