General
Fender's Precision Bass is the iconic instrument that has set the standard for bass guitars for over half a century. It is coveted for its powerful sound, its indestructible build and reliability, and can be heard in virtually any type of popular music from then and now. The American Standard Jazz Bass does nothing to detract from this formula for success, in fact, it adds to it. This black bass guitar is equipped with an exclusive pickup from Fender's Custom Shop. The latest version of the American-made Fender classic is pure and simple. This version features a maple neck with a maple fretboard that makes it sound just a bit brighter than a rosewood version would. Delivery includes a case and accessories.
American Standard P-Bass: Custom Shop sound quality
This version of the American Standard Precision Bass is fitted with a pickup that you'll usually only find on the more expensive Custom Shop models. This Custom Shop '60s split single-coil is a vintage pickup on steroids. It produces that authentic P-Bass sound with more of Everything. Extra windings provide the pickup with more output, a fatter, tighter bass and exquisitely punchy mids. The electronics consist of a volume control and a tone control to filter out high frequencies. Whether you're chopping away with a thick pick or strumming with your fingers, the American Standard Precision Bass delivers a first-class performance at any playing style and music type.
A true classic with modern improvements
In addition to the great-sounding pickup, the American Standard Precision Bass has been equipped with several other upgrades. The lacquer base coat is much thinner, allowing the body to breathe and resonate better. Playability has been improved thanks to medium jumbo frets and a modern, flatter 9.5-inch fretboard radius. Its neck is stronger and more stable than ever due to the two internal Posiflex support rods. Both the new bridge and Hipshot tuners have retained their vintage looks. The High Mass Vintage bridge is thicker than before, providing a more massive tone and sustain, while the tuners are 30% lighter for a better overall balance.
