It is one of the most quaint yet legendary designs in the realm of guitars: the Fender Starcaster Bass. It is a short-scale bass guitar with a distinctive body shape (or offset waist) and two humbucker pickups. This unique semi-hollow bass made its first appearance as a limited edition in the seventies and despite being an instant hit, it is a very rare instrument. Decades later, the short-scale Starcaster bass guitar is back as a part of Fender's Modern Player series, with a superior sound, an improved build and gorgeous looks. It is the ideal bass guitar for Fender-loving bass players who like to play a quirky designed instrument with fantastic tonal characteristics.

Fender Modern Player Starcaster Bass Aged Cherry Burst: bass guitar with Center Block

The thin semi-hollow offset body of this Fender Starcaster bass guitar was made of laminated maple and features an alder Center Block. A Center Block is basically a solid wooden beam that runs through the middle of the body, across its entire length, separating it into two large sound chambers as it were. The front and back of the body of the Starcaster feature the same beautiful bindings that are also found around the characteristic F holes on the top. Its short-scale C-shaped neck and 22-fret fretboard with black position markers are also made of maple. The headstock of this Fender semi-hollow bass guitar has a Fender logo and a striking Starcaster Black Accent Stripe that is beloved by many musicians.

Wide-Range Humbuckers

The Aged Cherry Burst Fender Modern Player Starcaster Bass has two Fender Wide Range Humbucking Bass pickups, a three-position pickup switch, four controls with vintage-style knobs (a volume and tone control for each pickup) and a 4-saddle Fender Hi-Mass bridge. It is an ideal bass guitar for music types like country, jazz, blues and rock 'n' roll.
