General

A worn-down Fender bass guitar possesses a certain charm that a new instrument doesn't. Every dent, scratch and patch tells the story about the bass' tough musical life. What is more, the neck feels much more comfortable as it has been worn in for years. Fender's Road Worn series offers not just the authentic looks and sound but also the feel of a vintage instrument, without the hefty price tag.

Road Worn '50s Precision Bass: distinctive '50s styling

The Fender Road Worn '50s Precision Bass was modelled after a fifties P-Bass. A distinctive feature of the period is the use of brightly coloured nitrocellulose lacquers, like Fiesta Red but also the yellow-tinted 20-fret one-piece maple necks, with a 7.25-inch radius and truss rod access near the body. The body of this guitar is made of lightweight alder, to give it a full and balanced tone. Furthermore, the Road Worn '50s Precision Bass features a gold-anodised aluminium pickguard and vintage-accurate hardware like reversed tuners and a hardtail bridge with four adjustable saddles. Every component has been artificially aged to make the bass look like it's been to every pub and on every motorway.

Simple yet effective electric bass guitar

the Fender Road Worn Precision Bass is a durable workhorse equipped with just one split single-coil pickup and two controls. No excess fringes, just turn up the volume, adjust the tone and let set it loose. The pickup is made up of two parts that are individually adjustable in height to provide an optimal balance between string outputs. The two separate coils function as one humbucker, ridding you of the typical 50Hz hum. The PBass is known for its punchy sound and powerful bass that makes it suitable for any playing style or type of music. This is one of the reasons that this model is one of Fender's most popular bass guitars since 1952.
