The Ibanez AFBV200A-TCL is a four-string bass guitar with an attractive Tobacco Burst Low Gloss finish that looks like it has spent a few years on the road. This hollow-body bass from the Artcore Vintage series is made of maple and features an arched top with two f-holes. Its strings run along a mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard towards a wooden ART-1 bridge that isn't secured to the top - the same construction you'd find on an old vintage bass. This instrument's sound is just as authentic as its looks; two Classic Elite humbuckers produce that full, warm vintage tone.

Bass players are becoming increasingly interested in vintage instruments that show the tell-tale signs of having been around for a while. Bass guitars like that are usually priceless, however, and even reliced instruments can cost a lot of money. It's no wonder then, that Ibanez has introduced the Artcore Vintage series, a line of reliced guitars with affordable price tags. During the Artcore Vintage process, not only the body is treated to give it a weathered look, the hardware is tackled as well.

As usual, Japanese manufacturer Ibanez has chosen the NAMM show in Anaheim, California to launch their new bass guitars. What better time to introduce 24 brand new models than the world's largest music gear convention, after all? Some of these new basses are based on existing models, but feature new finishes or modifications. Others are completely new, ground-breaking instruments.
