The Ibanez SR370EF-BBT is a fretless bass from the SR series. That means it's comfortable to play and has a great sound with an unmistakable fretless tone. It's a perfect choice for bassists who want a good-quality fretless bass guitar that won't break the bank.
Active circuit for a wide variety of sounds
The SR370EF-BBT has a maple body that adds brightness to the sound produced by this fretless bass. It features two CAP EXF-N2 pickups that are also found on the 300 and 400 series bass guitars by Ibanez. The pickups are supported by a single active circuit with an EQB-IIID three-band equalizer. This setup puts a wide variety of sounds at your fingertips and it's even possible to adjust the mid range using the mini switch.
Long sustain
Five layers of maple and rosewood are used to construct the stable neck. The fingerboard is made exclusively of rosewood and has fret markers to ensure you don't get lost. The robust Accu-cast B120 bridge ensures that the string vibrations are optimally transferred, giving this bass great sustain. It's not for nothing that basses in the Ibanez SR series have a lot of admirers. It's because they are known to be comfortable to play and their great sound is no secret either.

Ik wilde al een tijdje een fretloze bas, maar dacht dat het erg lastig spelen zou zijn. Het heeft mij inderdaad wel even gekost om de juiste posities te vinden, maar het ging sneller dan ik verwacht had.
De bas heeft een lekker geluid en ligt lekker in de hand. Ik heb wel de snaren vervangen door Ernie Ball flatwound snaren. De roundwound die erop zaten klonken niet lekker en begonnen in te vreten op het board. De roundwound gaven een erg metalige "tweng" klank. De flatwound geven de "toem" die past bij een fretloze bas. De hals en de brugzadels heb ik nog een beetje gesteld omdat de snaren iets tegen de hals kletterden.
Met de knoppen is veel variatie in klank mogelijk.
Een leuke bas voor een leuke prijs.

La palette sonore est très variée en passant par un son style Jaco ou celui de Buttler plus lourd. Très bonne basse pour tous ceux qui souhaitent jouer sur une fretless sans casser la tirelire.

Wat een fijne bas is dit!
Prima afgewerkt en zeer goed bespeelbaar right out of the box.
De bas is goed in balans en is relatief licht (vergeleken met een J- of P-stijl bas bijvoorbeeld).
De hals voelt mooi glad, net als het fretboard.
Na een paar dagen ook de set flatwounds van Fender (stainless steel 45) die ik had mee besteld erop gemonteerd en man wat een heerlijk geluid levert dat op! Pino Paladino here I come! ;-)
Nu ook aan het experimenteren met de verschillende klanken en instellingen. Breed scala aan mogelijkheden van punchy tot supersmooth en deep!
Klein minpuntje:
Het plastic coverplaatje dat vertelt welke knoppen wat doen zat er niet bij, dus heb ik een screenshot gemaakt vanaf deze product-pagina...
In de meegeleverde handleiding staat ook niks gemeld over de werking van de actieve elektronica. Die bevat overigens wel heel veel nuttige info over het afstellen van de hals en de brug, voor de intonatie, etc.
Overall een uitstekende kwaliteit instrument en zeker een aanrader als je fretloos wilt gaan, een goed merk wilt en niet de hoofdprijs wilt betalen!
