General
The StingRay bass guitar is Music Man's most famous design and this more attractively-priced version, is Sterling's Ray4. It has the same classic design and tones. There's a ceramic humbucker at the bridge that gives you all the power you need and you can tweak the sound to perfection using the 2-band active preamplifier and volume control. Note that the preamp requires 9V battery power. The Ray4 has a body made of basswood with a stylish black pickguard. The neck and fretboard are both made of maple and there are 21 medium frets. The large open machine heads ensure stable tuning.

Goede hals en toets. De standaard snaren wel erg stroef. Helaas kraakte alle 3 de potmeters en heb ik de Bas teruggestuurd.

About da bass. Uitstekende bouwkwaliteit. Hals heeft super fretwerk, beste dat ik tot nog toe heb gezien op een bas van deze prijsklasse. Afwerking is echt heel goed. Uit de doos niet direct bespeelbaar, maar na een set-up heel goed te doen. Standaard pick-up en pre-amp vielen me erg mee, ze doen het eigenlijk prima. Met een after-market pickup en pre-amp zal er nog wel verbetering mogelijk zijn, maar het is feitelijk niet nodig.
All-in-all dus een goede aanschaf.

Nice bass. The neck is straight. It plays and sounds great. I've been playing bass for 15 years, just moved and couldn't afford much. I'm very happy that I've bought this bass. For the price, you're not going to beat it.
