Seasoned bassists used to playing fretless models will appreciate the V74MRJP by Vintage. This bass is a homage to Jaco Pastorius, a pioneer of the fretless bass. It has a price tag that makes it accessible to anyone looking to own a fretless bass.
Construction
The first thing you'll notice about the VP4MRJP is its thoroughly convincing relic look. Its body is made of poplar, which is light in weight and adds a clear, crisp sound to the deep bass delivered by the Wilkinson JB bass pickups. It has a long-scale maple neck with a fingerboard that has 20 frets marked on it. Of course, there are no frets, but the fret markings will help beginners get used to playing a fretless instrument.
The Vintage brand
Vintage's history can be roughly divided into two periods. In the early days, the company made cheap copies that often lived up to the negative stereotypes about low-budget instruments. However, that changed drastically when Trevor Wilkinson, famed for his affordable yet high-quality guitar parts, attached his name to the Vintage brand. Not only did Vintage's hardware division receive a shot of quality, but the wood selection and construction methods were also greatly improved. Now, Vintage has made a name for itself by offering excellent value for money, and can proudly take its place among the fierce competition in this particular price class.

Je suis bassiste compositeur et j'avais besoin d'une basse fretless qui ait de l'âme.
Je n'ai pas été déçu, elle est très jouable, très agréable. elle a été livrée avec des cordes à filets ronds ce qui m'a étonné au début mais au final j'aime beaucoup.
Le seul bémol que j'y trouve c'est qu'elle aurait pu mieux sonner sur les harmonique mais pour ce qui est du "mwah" si recherché je dois dire que cette basse en regorge. Quand on la joue on arrive assez facilement à obtenir ce ton et cette couleur. Je tiens à dire que j'ai joué 3 ans sur le modèle Pastorius Fender Jazz bass fretless ( le modèle à 2500 euros) et franchement? Je préfère ma Vintage Icon haut la main.
