General
Brancher's J17SG is a metal mouthpiece for soprano saxophone. The use of metal gives a specific sound to a mouthpiece and it therefore sounds very different from, say, an ebonite mouthpiece. This J17SG was gold-plated and finished with an ebonite mouthpiece for more playing comfort. Thanks to the 1.7 mm tip opening, it is a smoothly playable mouthpiece that still delivers sufficient power. Both beginning students and more advanced saxophonists will find this a fine mouthpiece. The French brand Brancher is therefore known for its quality and delivers craftsmanship time and again. They supply a semi-rigid ligature and a plastic protection cap free of charge.
