General
The Vandoren AL3 Optimum mouthpiece seeks to meet that mid-point between design and sound. Experienced alto saxophonists will find the AL3 a particularly rounded mouthpiece, and when compared to the rest of the Vandoren line-up, its definitely optimised for classical music - and to great effect. This mouthpiece delivers a warm sound across all registers, and makes it easier to purely intonate all dynamics - so, whether playing strong and high-pitched, or softly and low-pitched, the definition and quality of tone will remain consistent. The AL3 is comfortable for both beginner and advanced alto saxophonists.
