General
Vandoren have already been supplying wind musicians with mouthpieces for eons or more, and this immense wisdom and experience is made clear by the Optimum Series mouthpieces. Made for tenor saxophone, the TL5 has a 2.05mm tip opening which combines with a medium-sized barrel length for a full and warm timbrel response in the higher as well as lower registers. This mouthpiece is designed for the more advanced musician since it does require a developed embouchure, but the kind of tone its able to produce is certainly worth studying for.
Exacting Quality
Vandoren is a Parisian family-run company that's been in the business of producing mouthpieces for three generations. Vandoren mouthpieces are renowned for their exacting quality and innovative design among musicians worldwide. The Optimum Series is one of the most-sold and successful ranges they have ever produced and for the best sound, they recommend coupling a genre-specific size-3 reed.
