The Gretsch G5420T Hollow Body in Orange Stain sounds as clean and fresh as it looks. It's constructed from 5-ply laminated maple for a crystal-clear tone and outstanding resonance which is further augmented by the Graph Tech NuBone string nut and Adjusto-Matic bridge. Playability is better than ever thanks to 22 medium jumbo frets on a rosewood fretboard. Authentic details like the Gretsch G6120 headstock, the logo, and silver-coloured pickguard all make the G5420T a real piece of eye candy.
G5420T: Blacktop Filter'Tron and Bigsby Vibrato
Two potent blacktop Filter'Tron pickups are responsible for the amplified sound of this semi-acoustic Electromatic guitar. It combines the warm tone of a humbucker with the sparkling trebles of a single-coil, which is what gives the Gretsch G5420T its versatile character. Another juicy detail is the addition of a volume control with treble bleed which ensures the higher frequencies are sure to cut through the mix, even at lower volume levels. Of course, no Gretsch G5420T would be complete without the Bigsby B60 tailpiece with vibrato.

Het feit dat ik naast jazz ook de muziekstijl van Chet Atkins beter onder de knie zou willen krijgen heeft uiteraard ook meegespeeld. En eerlijk gezegd heb ik ook al jaren een haat-liefde verhouding met de dunnere ES335 types...tof maar toch...
Deze G5420T is zonder meer fantastisch te noemen, ik kan geen nadelen vinden en ze is ook nog eens bijzonder mooi. De afstelling (af fabriek veronderstel ik) is perfect (ook al is ze in Korea gemaakt, hopelijk Zuid en niet Noord...), de nek ligt zeer goed, nut is perfect, actie ook,....en voor een eerlijke prijs. Je hoeft ook voor de Cadillac onder de gitaren niet veel duurder te gaan. Voor alle liefhebbers van dit soort gitaren kan ik ze meer dan 100% aanraden.

De gitaar is afgesteld op 1,4mm snaarhoogte en dus direct heel prettig bespeelbaar.
Intonatie is goed en de hals is goed afgesteld.
De afwerking is perfect en er zijn geen onvolkomenheden aan de gitaar te vinden.
Op het www zijn issues te vinden dat de pick-ups te laag staan en niet hoger kunnen en er andere schroeven of vulringen aan te pas moeten komen, nou dat is dus niet zo, ik kreeg de pick-ups netjes op 4-5 mm afgesteld.
Kortom een echte player met een top sound over mijn Vox AC-30 HW.
