Come as close to that Chet Atkins sound as you can get courtesy of the irresistible charm of the Gretsch G6120T-55 Vintage Select Edition '55. This model is a one-to-one copy of Chet's legendary G6120 plus a couple of tweaks here and there to bring the playability up to modern standards. But, what you get on first glance is an eyeful of classic style and character, from the Bigsby B6GBVF vibrato tailpiece to the set of TV Jones T-Armond single-coils, and from the exclusive set of position markers to the gilded hardware and the Vintage Orange Stain lacquer.

Bright Tone

The mounted pickups hark right back to the sound of Mr. Atkins himself, so this guitar has been treated to multidimensional tone and articulate and detailed definition framed by some authentic twang. A volume pot per pickup plus a global volume pot and tone pot are provided so the output can be varied at will, while the string-through design of the Bigsby tailpiece doesn't just support smooth tremolo arm action, but quicker re-strings.

Classic Design

The interior of the laminated maple body has been finished with parallel Tone Bars, pulling the very best out of the hollowbody construction, while the set-in maple neck and rosewood fretboard complete the warm and woody acoustic foundation. Twenty-two medium frets and a vintage-style polished aluminium nut add a touch of brightness to the mix and, so you know exactly where you are as your navigate the fretboard, the aged mother-of-pearl position blocks feature stunning Western motifs. Polished off with a set of Grover Sta-Tite machine heads to firm up the tuning stability, as well as a gold plexi pickguard stamped with Chet Atkin's signature, this is one handsome heartbreaker of a guitar.
