What's more, they also look great. This four-piece shellset comes without snare drum, cymbals and hardware. You are therefore not bound to a 'standard configuration' and can use your favourite snare drum and cymbals yourself. This Gretsch Drums Renown 2016 edition is finished in the colour Champagne Sparkle and consists of a 22 x 18-inch bass drum, 10 x 7 and 12 x 8-inch toms and a 16 x 14-inch bass drum.

For the Renown 2016 edition, slow-growing North American maple wood was once again used. This particular species of maple is known for its excellent resonance properties. The four shells were constructed from 7 thin layers after which the edges were rounded at a 30-degree angle. To give the kettles a focused sound, this set was fitted with 302 tension edges. These tension edges are similar to die-cast edges, but they are a bit lighter in weight and a bit less rigid. This gives the kettles a bit more 'breathing room' and allows them to resonate better.
