General
The AT2031 is a slim pencil condenser microphone with a cardioid pickup pattern. It is especially well suited for accurate recordings of (string) instruments - like violin, cello, guitar and piano - thanks to its pleasant frequency range, which has a light increase above 10 kHz for additional presence. Thanks to the cardioid pickup pattern, you can aim the AT2031 accurately, so that only the desired sound source is registered.
AT2031: LF roll-off
The affordable AT2031 is ideal for live applications and use in the studio. The LF roll-off ensures a subtle attenuation of lower frequencies (up to 150 Hz), which in turn opens up space in your mix without having to use peripherals (like EQs). This Audio Technica can handle high sound pressures and provides undistorted recordings up to 141 dB. All in all, this is truly an accurate instrument microphone for high-quality recordings.

De microfoon is door het compacte formaat makkelijk in gebruik en makkelijk om mee te nemen. De mic clip die erbij wordt geleverd is ook handig. Goeie prijs-kwaliteit verhouding.

ce micro à alimenter (alim phantom 48v) a été testé avec un Zoom F4 et un Roland R26, et ne déçoit pas.
Bien que recommandé plutôt pour instrument, il est possible de l'utiliser pour de la voix (plutôt des dialogues), moyennant un antipop s'il est utilisé de près.
Le son est excellent (testé sur piano à queue et sur du voice over en podcast), et la légère bosse de brillance n'est pas très prononcée je trouve, et n'a pas nécessité de correction en post.
Bonne qualité de fabrication (métal), dans la tradition des matériels pro de la marque japonaise.
Je recommande, pour un usage studio/home studio sur de la voix, et un usage studio ou scène pour de l'instrument.
Bonne sensibilité et bruit propre très faible. Rappel : c'est un cardioïde.
Un très bon produit à ce tarif.
