Austrian Audio CC8 Small-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone

Wrote the following about Austrian Audio CC8 Small-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone
This is a fantastic microphone. With no discernable self noise, the sound source is captured absolutely faithfully against a silent background. It handles drum transients brilliantly, captures guitar wonderfully and, I have even used it outdoors for birdsong recordings that are amazing. This mic has a completely flat frequency response so don't expect the high frequency lift used by others to give "presence". However, it takes EQ well and can be made to cut through in a mix if that's needed. One point to note, like most good mics, when used for spoken word, which sounds great, it can pop very badly; always use a good pop filter. In fact, Bax should bundle a pop filter with it as you simply have to use one and it's a great application for this mic.
