Tama DMP1255 Soundworks Maple 12 x 5.5" snare drum

General

The Tama DMP1255 Soundworks Maple 12 x 5.5" snare drum has a shell made of 6 plies of maple. Tama chose this wood type because it allows for a beautifully warm sound. Furthermore, to help that sound resonate freely, the bearing edges were cut with great precision, so that the vibrations are properly transferred from drumhead to shell. The steel Sound Arc Hoops curve inwards, emphasise the wood's natural tone and allow for consistent tuning. As for the finish, Tama chose to show off the maple's natural beauty and gorgeous wood grain, while finishing the drum off with chrome-plated hardware.
