The Tama DST1465 Soundworks 14 x 6.5" Steel snare drum has a 1.2mm-thick steel shell and a sound that will cut through virtually anything. Its powerful sound is amplified by the die-cast Steel Mighty Hoops, which are 2.3 mm thick and prevent the sound from becoming too dry. Combined with the MSL60S lugs, these hoops make sure the drumhead tension stays consistent. All in all, it's a great snare drum for loud types of music such as rock and metal, and it's particularly effective during live performances.
