Yamaha Recording Custom Birch 14x8 -inch snare drum, Classic Walnut

General

Ever since the Recording Custom series was introduced by Yamaha in the 1975, it has been a popular drum series for both live and studio work. In 2016, the series was revived and now there are also wooden snare drums. Of course, only birch wood has been used, as always for Recording Custom. The shell consists of six layers with a total thickness of 6 millimetres. This gives the snare the good mix with low and high frequencies that Recording Custom is known for. With a size of 14 x8 inches, this model is also a bit deeper and more powerful. The result is a vintage sound that is again excellent all-round on stage as well as in the studio. This variant is finished in Classic Walnut lacquer.

One Piece Lug

Compared to the original series, the Recording Custom has been updated with a slightly thinner shell, but also with new tensioning blocks. This so-called One Piece Lug gives a retro look, but due to an improved design it is now also better able to hold the tension of your sheet. Furthermore, we see solid triple flanged tensioning edges and a Q type string tensioner. The snare comes with Remo Ambassador heads, so you can get started right away.
