Yamaha XP80 drum pad 8-inch

Excellent additional purchase for anyone wishing to upgrade the snare on their DTX 400 series. (It comes as standard on the 500 and 700 series). Don't forget to change the snare settings on DTX 400 module (or via the App) to "XP Series" or "XP Series Reversed" depending on personal preference for Open & Closed Rim Shot location. The textured silicon playing surface is as close to the real thing as you can get on electronic pad - the bounce, resilience and strike quality are leagues ahead of either standard rubber or mesh pads and the three zone playing system is excellently conceived and executed. You do not need any larger than this 8" pad to enhance your playing experience. It comes with a securing knob but not the clamp - if you're upgrading though you can simply swap this for the existing snare assembly clamp and use the same one but with the new securing knob. Keep the cable from the old snare though as the one supplied with it has the wrong input jack for the 400 series module. Bought in conjunction with a PCY95AT additional cymbal pad as a second crash for my DTX 452 kit which completed the upgrade to a full size kit. Customer service from BAX Music (based in The Netherlands) was excellent - package arrived in the UK via Parcel Force and their International Partner (GLS) within 2 business days, even in December, well boxed and protected.
