General

If you're trying to tame your seven-string guitar, but having trouble with definition in the lower range, Peavey's 6505 Guitar Subwoofer is here to save the day. This speaker cabinet is specifically designed to pick up and transmit low tones. It delivers a sound much like that of a 4x 12-inch cabinet that you can feel in your gut! When you use a lunchbox-type mini amp head, the low tones can sometimes come across as muddled, but with the help of this 300-watt, 18-inch speaker, you'll have the potential of a full stack at your fingertips.

Limitless range

The 6505 Subwoofer's adjustable input level can handle any type of head you want to hook it up to. A 120-Hz crossover frequency response gives you the benefit of extra lows on top of the head's regular range, adding extra articulation to your playing. Besides a speaker input, this subwoofer also features a microphone/line in (female XLR) and an XLR Thru (male), which can switch between high-pass and thru. What's more, it's easy to transport for use on stage as well as in the studio, especially if you play in a low tuning or on a seven or eight-string guitar.

The Peavey 6505 series is widely acclaimed, but apparently the amp manufacturer still felt something was missing from the lineup. That's why they've added two new products to the range. One is called the Piranha Micro Head, a 20W hybrid top that can practically fit into your jacket pocket. The other is the Guitar Subwoofer, a cabinet with an 18" speaker and 300 watts of power to beef up the low end. Together, they're a great pair.
