General

The Shure A15BT bridging transformer is used to connect balanced and unbalanced devices with different levels or different impedances to one another. Depending on the devices in question, the A15BT will provide a minor increase or decrease in signal level.

Application

With this device you can, for instance, connect an FM radio/receiver mono output to a microphone mixer, or connect a high-impedance mic to a medium-impedance audio recorder. Other options include plugging a line-level output from a mixer into an unbalanced aux-level input on an amp, and converting an unbalanced aux-level output into a balanced 600-ohm line output.
