The AC-OM1 is one of the most affordable all-solid acoustic steel-string Orchestra model guitars by Eastman. In fact, finding a model with a solid top, back and sides at this price is quite rare. An all-solid guitar has a number of advantages compared to a model with a laminated body. When it comes to sound, for instance, an all-solid model produces more volume and offers improved dynamics and resonance. That doesn't mean that the AC-OM1 is only suitable for playing loudly, of course, it's excellent for subtle strumming too.

Spruce and sapele

The solid spruce top produces a sound that is tight, bright and has well-defined trebles. The back and sides are made of solid sapele, a wood type that produces a sound similar to that of mahogany, but with more balance. The rosewood fretboard adds warm overtones to the mix resulting in a sound that is warm, bright and well-balanced overall. The AC-OM1 also features the innovative scalloped X bracing that reinforces the top and vastly improves the instrument's resonance compared to one that has a traditional X bracing. The scale length of 24.9 inches is another feature that sets this Eastwood model apart from the competition.

A great deal

Considering the AC-OM1's specifications, it's already a surprisingly affordable all-solid acoustic steel-string guitar. That hasn't stopped Eastwood from sweetening the deal even more however, by including a luxurious padded gig bag.
