Wrote the following about Gretsch G9511 Style 1 Single-0 Parlor Appalachia Cloudburst

Ik heb deze parlor gitaar nu twee weken in mijn bezit, en telkens wanneer ik hem vastpak verbaas ik mij opnieuw over hoe goed hij klinkt. Oorspronklijk zocht ik enkel een klein formaat gitaar (liefst niet te duur) om mee te nemen op reis. Maar deze, op het eerste zicht erg bescheiden, gretsch is zo veel meer dan gewoon een praktische oplossing. Het is een volwaardig topinstrument met een heel eigen geluid: sprankelend en fris in de hogere regionen en een percussieve 'boxy' klank in het laag. Hij ademt sfeer. De afwerking is eenvoudig maar vlekkeloos. De bespeelbaarheid is, dankzij de stevige hals en uitgebalanceerde afstelling, optimaal voor fingerpicking én strumming. En wat een stem. Zelfs naast mijn kloeke dreadnoughts weet hij moeiteloos zijn mannetje te staan. Maar het is pas achter een microfoon dat hij helemaal uitblinkt. Een ideale partner voor in de studio. Kortom: een kleine gitaar met een groot geluid!
