The London 8 Room Kit: A Complete Studio 'In a Box'

The Broadway panels included in the London 8 kit have been made from high-density fibreglass, specifically developed to counter any unwanted flutter, primary reflections, and echoes. Primacoustic even claims that the construction of their panels offer almost five times the sonic absorption of other affordable treatment available, and that it guarantees a vast improvement in the acoustics of any studio, home studio, or even theatres. The included Broadway panels have a scatter block construction to reduce flutter and echo further, while the wall-mounted control columns serve to limit side-to-side effects and minimise primary reflections.

LEDE - Live End, Dead End Room Design

In the early '70s, engineers discovered that studios that had been fully decked out with sound absorbing materials provided an unnatural feeling sound when compared to real-life situations. From then on, rooms were only partly covered, and the covered part was dubbed the 'dead end', where the sound had a dry, literally dead character, while the uncovered part was referred to as the live end, due to the lively, more open acoustic. These two concepts combined, form the LEDE (Live End/Dead End) principle, which proved immediately successful and changed the construction of recording spaces forever.
