Primacoustic London 8 Paintable Room Kit

General

Primacoustic is the leading specialist in acoustic improvement and sound isolation. To get the most out of the London 8 room kit, use it in a room up to 9.3m². If you want to treat larger spaces, you can combine this set with other products from the range, or simply go with a bigger set, like the London 12 room kit. Primacoustic also caters to people who have a smaller budget, but still want a high-quality product. These panels meet all fire safety requirements, can be used in both commercial and domestic settings and are easy to mount using the included hardware.

The London 8 Kit: Humble in Size, Huge in Performance

The Broadway panels of the London 8 room kit are made from high-density fiberglass, and will remove any unwanted flutter, primary reflections, and echoes. Moreover, Primacoustic claims that the fiberglass panels offer an absorption that is almost five times greater than that of other affordable options on the market, and will suit any (home) studio or theatre to a T. The Broadway panels consist of the so-called scatter blocks which reduce the flutter and echo. The control columns, mounted on the walls, serve to reduce side-to-side effects and to minimise primary reflections.

LEDE - Live End, Dead End

In the early '70s, studio engineers discovered that studios that were fully covered in sound absorbing materials provided an unnatural sound in real-life situations. From then on, rooms were only partly covered, and the covered part was called the dead end, because that's where the sound had a dry, dead character. The uncovered part that was left was called the live end, due to the lively, more open sound. These two concepts combined form the LEDE (Live End/Dead End) principle, which proved to be very successful. As such, all Primacoustic room kits have been developed on the basis of this principle.
